Smokey Cares Foundation
The Smokey Cares Foundation is our philanthropic arm. Smokey, our Chairdog, is the inspiration for our Smokey Cares™ activities.
Once a stray in northern Michigan's Tuscola County, Smokey was rescued by company president and founder, Andrew Gelsey. Through proper care, affection and proper nutrition, Smokey has grown into a vital, fun-loving part of our life.
Smokey's story highlighted the need for ongoing support of our four-legged friends. Smokey's impoverished beginnings inspired us to create Smokey Cares as the philanthropic arm of our company.
Through the Smokey Cares Foundation we created a turn key opportunity for other philanthropic organizations to support their fundraising objectives while helping our shelters. We pledge a portion of these proceeds to community-specific, nonprofit organizations that support the care and well-being of dogs. We encourage our customers and retail partners to support similar groups within their communities.
